Pep Guardiola is said to still be interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after last summer’s failed attempts to sign the in-form striker.

The Gabon international was said to have been in advanced talks with City at the start of the summer transfer window last year.

However, the deal seemed doomed from the start after it was revealed he promised his Grandfather that he would once play for Real Madrid, another team that have shown an interest in the player in the past.

Manchester Evening News also reports that Guardiola is keen on Monaco superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old will most certainly have caught Pep’s attention when scoring twice over two legs when Monaco squeezed past City in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

Mbappe has played 41 times for Ligue 1 high-flyers Monaco this season, scoring 24 goals and getting 8 assists in the process, so would certainly add something to City’s already blessed attacking side.

The report also claims that any deals for either of Mbappe or Aubameyang would depend on Sergio Aguero’s future at the club. The Argentinian has been continually linked with a move away from City since being dropped to the bench in favour of Gabriel Jesus back in February.

Aguero has scored 31 goals in all competitions this season, one shy of equalising his previous record of 32 goals. The free-scoring striker has always said he would honour his contract with the Manchester giants, but will Pep decide his future for him in the summer?
