Manchester City are ready to battle Liverpool for Manchester United left-back, Luke Shaw.
According to the Daily Mirror, both of United’s nearest and most bitter rivals are keen to offer the player a way out of his Old Trafford horror.
City and Liverpool have suffered from a left-back issue with City’s title run being halted due to the ageing full-backs the club possess.
With Gael Clichy expected to leave City on a free transfer in the summer, it’s imperative the club opt for a top class left-back. Clichy also fills a homegrown spot that clubs are desperate to fill – something that could be filled by signing Shaw.
The England left-back has been the subject of heavy criticism from United boss, Jose Mourinho. The United manager has left Shaw out on several weeks due to his lack of fitness and weak mental state.
Shaw has only played 16 times for United this season, so his future seems to lay away from Old Trafford and City could end his tournament in Salford.
